The Manyo Anthology is the source of Japanese literature, the oldest collection of poems, and the origin of haiku. It consists of 20 volumes and more than 4,500 poems, and reflects the thoughts of people from the Emperor to nameless men and women. This period can be divided into four periods.
The first period is up to the Jinshin War in 672, the second period up to the relocation of the capital to Heijo-kyo in 710, the third period up to the time when Otomo no Yakamochi began his writing career after the death of Yamanoue Okura in 733, and the fourth period up to 759. Of these, the period up to the relocation of the capital to Heijo-kyo is the heyday.
I started writing songs in December 2023 and released my first album, and have been working on it ever since. I hope that people overseas will continue to learn more about the world of these poems little by little.
